Japan is reporting more contaminated COVID-19 vaccines (fourth report in less than a week). Reuters reports:
Japan suspended the use of 1.63 million doses of Moderna shots last week after being notified of contamination in some of the supply. … Moderna has said no safety or efficacy issues had been identified from the issue.
These reports follow on the heels of last week’s news that Japan suspended the use of 1.63 million Moderna doses after reports of contaminants that react to magnets and ‘could be metal’. Nikkei reports:
Moderna confirmed receiving “several complaints of particulate matter” in vaccine vials distributed in Japan but said it had found “no safety or efficacy issues” related to these reports.
Two Japanese men recently died from the very “safe and effective” but suspended Moderna vaccines. (Nothing to see, here. Move along.)
